Have your tea and drink it too! In addition to tea packaging, I created the branding for Pinky Up accessories packaging. My team and I collaborated very closely with our buyer at Kroger and we were able to showcase an entire top-to-bottom shelf of Pinky Up tea and accessories in over 180 Kroger stores nationwide. It was so successful that Kroger expanded that number in a matter of months.

Kroger is not only the largest supermarket chain in the U.S. by revenue, but it is the second-largest general retailer after Walmart. Being able to see our designs and products touch customers on such a large, far reaching scale was something to be very proud of. It took a village and I'm incredibly proud of what our design and product development team accomplished in a matter of weeks (the tightest and most ambitious timeline ever in my history at True Brands!)

Adorable cat mugs & ceramic trays designed by Lovina Hua

The cat mugs are some of Pinky Up's most popular and highest revenue-driving items, bringing in a combined yearly revenue of over $150K (2017-2018).

I designed the tea filter box to have a perforated flap for storage purposes. Customers can leave the tea filters in this box until it runs out.

I also created illustrations that were printed onto Pinky Up products such as tea trays, travel mugs, and tea towels.

Some illustrations were turned into metal enamel charms. They functioned as weights to prevent the chain on the mesh ball from falling into your mug.

The challenge for smaller accessories was creating boxes that could hang as well as be merchandised in a counter display unit. The CDU can quickly be placed on a shelf as an entire inner case pack.
